Client

RDC Data is a U.S. based company in the oil & gas industry. It uses a mobile infrastructure to gather accurate data from field inspections and missions.

Problem

The company wanted a mobile solution for collecting information in the field using Pocket PCs and for easily identifying the geographic location based on interaction with a GPS system. The company also wanted to integrate the mobile application with its own desktop application. In addition, the design of the input form had to be highly customizable.

Solution 

OSF developed and implemented the software application for the Pocket PC that enables technicians to accurately and easily gather field data, as well as detect and read the location of the measurement. The data is later downloaded from the Pocket PC onto a desktop system.

Results

The mobile solution has improved the efficiency and accuracy of the field data gathering process. Interaction with the GPS system has allowed the company to obtain more accurate data and improve its team’s expertise.
